World Seafood Congress 2019 Penang, Malaysia, September 9-11, 2019

World Seafood Congress is a congress that brings together seafood activists including the seafood processors, seafood equipment providers, fisheries and marine institutions, non-government organizations, etc. For the 2019, Penang, Malaysia was choosen to be the host of World Seafood Congress. Participants from approximately 41 countries, including Indonesia participated to this event. APRI which is consists members from the seafood processor, also participated in this event.

World Seafood Congress 2019 (WSC 2019) conducted on September 9-11, 2019 at the SPICE Convention Center. This event organized by Penang Institute and enlivened by various activities such as presentation and exhibition. An honor for APRI because Executive Director of APRI Dr. Hawis Madduppa being one of the presenter. Dr. Hawis Madduppa presenting the material with topic “Tracing the Ecological Impact: Spatial and Temporal Variation of Blue Swimming Crab (Portunus pelagicus) Population Across Indonesia using Vessel Tracking and Catch Documentation”.

Furthermore, the representative of APRI member that is M. Novi Saputra from PT Kelola Mina Laut being one of the keynote speaker in this international event and presenting topic “Challenge of Seafood Industry to Avoid Post-Harvest Loss and Provide Quality Protein for the People”. After 3 days participated in this event, APRI get a lot of experiences. The experiences will be shared in order to develop the management of blue swimming crab in Indonesia.
