by adminapri February 6, 2022 0 commentsEast Java is the province with the highest national fisheries commodity exports in 2021 with a volume of 348,003,003 kg and an export value of 1,781,874,909 USD (Directorate General of PDSPKP 2021), Rajungan ranks third in the leading fishery commodities with high economic value.
In order to support the policy of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No. 17 of 2021, that the crabs that can be caught have a size of more than 10 cm and are not laying eggs, APRI continues to support efforts to increase stocks through this crab enlargement activity. APRI, which has collaborated since 2018, continues to develop technology for crab cultivation as a long-term solution for sustainability. One of the efforts to be able to meet market demand is by conducting trials of enlargement of crab from seeds.
This pilot training activity for crab enlargement was carried out as a learning medium for the fishermen group of KUB Berkah Capit Biru as fishermen assisted by APRI. Through representatives from BBPBAP Jepara as resource persons, they provided socialization and education to Blue Capit Berkah Berkah fishermen, from seeding to crab enlargement efforts. Another benefit of the training on crab enlargement trials, of course, will be an alternative for fishermen to earn income.
Mrs. Ir. Wahyuni Ir. Wahyuni Lestariningsih (Head of SDI Bid. Capture DKP East Java) also conveyed her support for APRI in raising the potential of Pagagan Village as a pilot village in the management of crab fisheries. “Ds Pagagan is a pilot village in fisheries management as evidenced by the Local regulations which regulate crabs, it is hoped that KUB Berkah Capit Biru fishermen can carry out this activity with seriousness and maximum effort in order to get a commensurate harvest”
Dr. Hawis Maddupa as the Executive Director of APRI advised that with the pilot training on crab enlargement, it will be possible to provide crabs periodically and reduce pressure on the environment and natural fishing. This activity can also accelerate the process of technology transfer and socialization to the cultivating community. The support of village officials and the Pamekasan DKP in crab fisheries is also very important in directing and maintaining the potential of regional wealth, therefore APRI also thanks to all stakeholders who are committed to preserving the crabs.
The distribution of a total of 5000 blue swimming crab seeds from BBPBAP Jepara was carried out by fishermen from KUB Berkah Capit Biru at the enlargement location in ds Pagagan – Pamekasan. Previously, this enlargement activity had also been carried out in Central Java, namely in the Gedongmulyo Village-Rembang area with fishermen assisted by APRI KUB Samudra Jaya Empat and Samudra Jaya Lima.
This activity was attended by the Head of SDI Bid. Arrest DKP East Java, BBPBAP Jepara, DKP Pamekasan, Pagagan Village Officials, APRI Staff, APRI Co-Management, and APRI Enumerators, Fisheries Extension Officers, and Fishermen KUB Berkah Capit Biru.
