The Meeting to Follow-Up the Implementation of Blue Swimming Crab Fisheries Management Priority Action Plan in Southeast Sulawesi, Kendari, January 24, 2019

One of provinces that do the efforts is Southeast Sulawesi. Southeast Sulawesi had a Governor’s Decree No. 289 Year 2017 about the Formation of blue Swimming Crab Fisheries Management Committee in Southeast Sulawesi. It is an effort from Southeast Sulawesi Province in order to maintain and improve the blue swimming crab fisheries management to realize the sustainability.
As a real step to implement the Governor’s Decree, Marine Affairs and Fisheries Agency of Southeast Sulawesi facilitates a small meeting on January 24, 2019 which involving the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Agency of Southeasr Sulawesi Team, Sub Directorate of Inland Sea, Territorial, and Island Waters the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Indonesian Blue Swimming Crab Association (APRI), Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), and NFI Crab Council to discuss the implementation of action plan that was arranged at stakeholder meeting on December 18, 2018 in Kendari.
The meeting opened by the Head of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Agency of Southeast Sulawesi and the discussion was lead by Dr. Hawis Madduppa as APRI Executive Director. The discussion result is assign the Pamandati Village as pilot blue swimming crab village and priority program in 2019. With this pilot blue swimming crab village, the development of blue swimming crab fisheries in Southeast Sulawesi Province can continue to increase and it can create the sustainable blue swimming crab fisheries.
