This activity was held on 13 February 2018. APRI was also invited to attend this event and represented by APRI Field Coordinator Miftahul Khair. This meeting was attended by 45 fishermen involved in Fishery Stewardship Program, DKP Central Java Province, DKP Demak Regency, Diponegoro University, Enumerator and Dr. Soenaryo – Team Leader Accelerated development of Central Java Province and NFI Crab Council
This Meeting was opened by Chairman of LP2RL. LP2RL Betahwalang is grateful for the presence and participation of this activity and expecting this activity could improving the welfare of the fishermen in this village. “Everyone knows that this resources need to be preserved and preserved for all of us. Regulations issued by the minister of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs for not catching small crabs and egg berried female should be increasingly aware of this so that the future can be sustain. This potential source can be be used by our children in the future” said the chairman of LP2RL.
Dr. Abdul Ghofar from NFI Crab Council also shared the need to preserve the crabs in the region and become a challenge to manage the BSC in Betahwalang. He was appreciated this activities. “This is a direct command from the governor of Central Java Province who told me to come here because he is very concerned about the management of BSC fishery, lobsters and mud crabs” said Dr. Sunaryo. It was expexted from this activity can support the BSC improvement management in Betahwalang.
