SIMP Regulation Discussion Meeting for Fish and Fishery Products
by adminapri April 13, 2018 0 commentsIn order to implement the regulation of Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP) for fish and fishery products to enter the United States, the Directorate General of Strengthening Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products-MMAF (PDSPKP-KKP) Indonesia, held a meeting to discuss the data exchange traceability information system that can comply with the SIMP regulation. the activity was held on Thursday, 12 April 2018 in Ministry of Marine Fisheries and Affairs Jakarta
The event was preceded by a presentation of PDSKP activities in the preparation of SIMP, which is to integrate within the existing MMAF information system. So that if required by industry catching data or NOAA live downloaded. The new activity is fulfilling some gaps of Information System needs. The new approach of MMAF is to introduce data collection at the supplier level.
In this opportunity, APRI provides input on the need for vessel ID / national vessel registration in order to have unit vessel number, verification for nonformal landings (excluding TPI) need to be simplified and difficulty obtaining small pass passes for crab fishermen.
