NFI Crab Council Site Visit, Rembang and Madura, December 7-8, 2019

Blue swimming crab industry is involving several supply chain starting from fishermens, collectors/cooking stations, mini plants, and fish processor units. Those supply chain, play important role in the blue swimming crab industry. Success from the blue swimming crab industry, include the fulfillments of compliance or in exporting, very dependent on how the condition of the supply chain, how they coordinate well. Blue swimming crab supply chain itself has a long chain with limited time, and it is make this industry is very typical.

On December 7-8, 2019, Mr. Ed Rhode from National Fisheries visited done the field visit to Rembang, Central Java and Pamekasan, East Java to visiting the blue swimming crab supply chain in the area. The agenda visit to see directly the condition of the other blue swimming crab supply chain, include the fishermens, collectors/cooking stations, and mini plants. Meet and discuss with the local government, head of Pagagan Village, and local fishermens. And to see how the control document system at the blue swimming crab fisheries included collectors and mini plants

In this visit also attended Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), Diponegoro University, APRI members and the Central Java Provincial Swimming Committee.
