FSPCA Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) 2019 Training, Jakarta
by adminapri August 5, 2019 0 commentsThe Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) was signed into law in 2011. The goal is to make the food supply in the USA is safe by shifting the focus of federal regulators from responding to contamination to prevention. By September 16, 2016 the majority of food processors need to have a Food Safety Plan that has been prepared by a “Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)”. This means that companies need to have a PCQI in place quickly so they can prepare and implement the Food Safety Plan. This raises a couple of questions for food processors.
A qualified individual who has successfully completed training in the development and application of risk-based preventive controls at least equivalent to that received under a standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by FDA or is otherwise qualified through job experience to develop and apply a food safety system.
21 CFR 117.3 Definitions
Food and beverage industry faces the challenges to ensure the products meet the regulations and requirements, especially for safety system. Blue swimming crab industry itself challenged by the demands of food safety management system, sustainable caught, and traceability fulfillments that being the mandatory for every stakeholders.
