Blue Swimming Crab Harvest in Silvofishery Pond at BBPBAP Jepara, Jepara, January 27, 2019

Blue swimming crab is the third highest of fishery product in export value. Blue swimming crab is important fisheries that the utilization is carried out in various regions in Indonesia, involving various supply chain. Blue swimming crab is one of natural resources which is if the utilization is not balanced with good management then will be decrease in quantity and quality. This realized by various stakeholder and especially APRI that focusing on it. APRI as an organization that promote sustainable use, has carried out various activites to maintain and develop our blue swimming crab fisheries, one of them is blue swimming crab aquaculture.

Blue swimming crab aquaculture has been done by collaborating with BBPBAP Jepara. This aquaculture activity has been implemented since July 2018. After several month of aquaculture, blue swimming crab aquaculture in silvofishery pond were harvested on January 27, 2019 at BBPBAP Jepara. This blue swimming crab harvest attended by APRI Board and several members of APRI that very interest to know the harvest even though it was accompanied by rain.

In this opportunity, Mr. Sugeng Raharjo as the Head of BBPBAP Jepara an his team welcome APRI well. In his statements, Mr. Sugeng Raharjo says that will support APRI in blue swimming crab aquaculture or blue swimming crab restocking. Mr. Kuncoro Catur Nugroho as APRI Chairman also give statements in this activity with the point is to thank BBPBAP Jepara who was support APRI in blue swimming crab aquaculture, and the program will be continued. Blue swimming crab aquaculture program is one of the real action from APRI to create a sustainable blue swimming crab fisheries.
