The management of sustainable blue swimming crab fisheries, it is realized needs to be done by all parties. As one of the fisheries resources which is quite important in meeting the economic needs of the Indonesian people, especially coastal communities, it is important for the blue swimming crab fisheries to be well managed and utilized.
Agency of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Central Java, takes concrete steps in the management of blue swimming crab fisheries. Various activities have been carried out, including the Meeting to Follow-Up the Implementation of Blue Swimming Crab Fisheries Management Priority Action Plan in Central Java Province on February 4, 2019. As an action to follow-up the activity, Agency of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Central Java Province organize the Location Determination of Blue Swimming Crab Priority Action Plan that will be carried out in 2019.
This activity was held on February 21, 2019 at the Agency of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Central Java Province in Semarang, which participated by various stakeholders, including APRI. This activity also invited the Head of the Agency of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Central Java Province, the Blue Swimming Crab Management/Conservation Team, Dr. Besweni as the Head of Sub Directorate of Directorate General of Fish Resources Management of Inland Sea, Territorial, and Archipelagic Waters, Dr. Abdul Ghofar as representative of NFI Crab Council, SFP, Head of Supervision of SDI DKP in Central Java Province, Diponegoro University Semarang, and APRI members in Central Java Province.
Statements and opening by Tasks Executor of the Head of the Agency of Marine Affairs and Fisheries was starting this activity, which continued by stetements from Dr. Besweni, and Bambang A. Nugraha as Secretary General of APRI. This meeting was prepared by submitting an action plan by each Agency of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of District in Central Java Province. The activity continued with a discussion moderated by Dr. Hawis Madduppa and then held the determination of the pilot location for the management of the blue swimming crab fisheries. On this occasion, also officially changed the name of the room at the Agency of Marine Affairs and fisheries of Central Java Province, where the name Cantrang Room was changed to the Rajungan Room.
With this activity, it is expected to provide a real impacts for the blue swimming crab fisheries. In addition, this activity is also expected to provide a pilot program in the blue swimming crab management in order to create sustainability.
