Rain is something that haunts them in their fishing activities, they really have to be able to determine whether they should go to sea or not. Some crab fishermen in Dahar Selebar village, Batubara sometimes experience difficulties in deciding whether to go to sea or not due to the weather during the rainy season.

Rain also has an impact on the safety of fishermen, not infrequently the rain is accompanied by high waves hitting their boats which puts their lives at risk. Not only that, the impact of rain on fishermen will affect the catch that day.

Weather can also affect catches, making it difficult for fishermen to determine “whether to go to sea today?” Based on facts on the ground, according to some fishermen, the rainy season can be a breeding ground for crabs, but if the waves are high and the weather is bad, fishermen have to think about not going to sea.

Some catches are also classified as decreasing compared to when the weather is good compared to when it rains. Crab landings in November amounted to 241.9 Kg. This figure shows a decrease in catches of 61.85% compared to landings in the previous month, namely 634.1 kg. This is also influenced by several factors, especially the weather, so fishermen decide not to go to sea.
