APRI was also present at the 2022 National Fish Festival called FINA which was held by the FPIK IPB Alumni Association as an activity to welcome National Fish Day. This activity has various agendas such as the Fishery Bazaar, Crab Cooking Contest, Video Contest, Coloring Contest.
APRI participates in introducing crab products to the Indonesian people accompanied by programs related to FIP for sustainable crabs. The community’s enthusiasm for this activity was quite large from various groups of people, from students to housewives. APRI also continues to introduce the nutritional content and characteristics of blue swimming crab to the public who visit the APRI bazaar stand. Also present to visit Prof. Arif Satria as Chancellor of IPB tasted pasteurized crab meat. The activity which took place in the Botani Square Mall Parking Area was also attended by several SMEs related to fisheries.
Mr. Ir Bambang Arif Nugraha, a representative from APRI, had the opportunity to be on the jury at this activity with Mrs. Artati Widiarti and Mrs. Wini Trilaksani.This activity is expected to help the community to be more fond of consuming processed products from fisheries such as small crabs.
At the peak of the 2022 National Fish Festival (FINA) activities, the Mayor of Bogor as well as the Chairperson of the Bogor City Fisheries Service, Yane Ardian Bima Arya, who was also present, provided information regarding the importance of consuming fishery products. The Mayor took the time to visit APRI’s booth and try the crab meat that had been provided. Bogor city itself through Forikan has a program related to eating fish called “JUMANI” which means “Friday Eat Fish” which hopes to encourage people to consume fish.
This activity is an opportunity for APRI to introduce sustainable crab fisheries to the Indonesian people and build public awareness regarding sustainability.
