APRI Web Biner With Topic “Arrest Management Quota Plan for Sustainable Rajungan Management” at Juni 19, 2020
by adminapri June 25, 2020 0 commentsThe Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) of the Republic of Indonesia, this year has just issued a ministerial regulation regulating crab fishing in Indonesia, namely Permen KP No. 12 / PERMEN-KP / 2020, where one of the issues highlighted in the regulation is the existence of a quota plan for crab fishing
The plan to apply a quota to crab catches has generated a lot of responses in the community. Therefore, the Indonesian Rajungan Management Association (APRI) held a webinar with the topic “Arrest Management Quota Plan for Sustainable Rajungan Management” through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform and Live Stream Youtube on June 19, 2020. This webinar invited speakers namely M. Zulficar Mochtar, ST, M. Si. as the Director-General of Fisheries Capturing the KKP but was unable to attend and be represented by Dr. Ir. Besweni, M. Si. as Head of Sub Directorate of Inland Marine Fish Resources, and also invited Prof. Dr. Ir. Indra Jaya, M.Sc. from the National Commission for KAJISKAN with the discussant namely the chairman of APRI Kuncoro Catur Nugroho and moderated by Dr. Hawis Madduppa as Executive Director of APRI and IPB Marine Lecturer.
APRI Webinar 1 was attended by at least 950 participants with various backgrounds, including from government agencies especially from institutions under the auspices of the CTF, academics, researchers, business people, NGOs, to students/students from various universities / high schools. Participants were quite active in participating in the webinar, this was evidenced by more than 60 questions that entered the Slido application even though only certain questions were selected due to time constraints. This webinar is expected to be a tool in determining policies regarding crab fishing quotas, as well as a means of knowledge for all stakeholders in the crab fisheries. Hopefully, the small crab fishery in Indonesia can continue to grow and be able to prosper the Indonesian people.
