APRI 3rd Quarterly Meeting in 2019, Tangerang, September 28-29, 2019
by adminapri October 1, 2019 0 commentsThe develop of Fisheries Improvement Program in Indonesia was fast growing when the APRI members were initiate the blue swimming crab Fisheries Improvement Program (FIP) in national scale. One of the effort is organizing the quarterly meeting to discuss the development of blue swimming crab fisheries. Along with the times, the challenges that will be faced by blue swimmming crab fisheries and industry experiencing changes and maybe more complex.
APRI as an association that oversees blue swimming crab processors need to coordinating the members to be able to face the challenges. As a follow up, APRI held the 3rd Quarterly Meeting in 2019 at Grand Soll Marina Hotel, Tangerang on September 28-29, 2019. The main agenda of this quarterly meeting, besides the progress report of Fisheries Improvement Program, there were presentation about MSC and social responsibilty compliance.
Meeting opened by opening statements and the material about latest issues in the global fisheries by Mr. Kuncoro Catur Nugroho as APRI Chairman. And then continued by the presentation with topic Towards Sustainable Blue Swimming Crab Industry through the Ecolabel/MSC that presented by Mr. Hirmen Syofyanto from Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Indonesia. Through the material, the members more know about the MSC certification and how the steps to reach it with the condition of blue swimming crab fisheries now.
In the second day, there were a report of APRI activities in July-September 2019 which was delivered by Mrs. Aik Wulandari as APRI Brand Ambassador, continued by the progress report of Fisheries Improvement Program (FIP) by APRI Executive Director Dr. Hawis Madduppa. And then, Dr. Abdul Ghofar as the Sustainable Envoy of NFI Crab Council, give a statements about the informations from NFI Crab Council. The next agenda was the presentation about Social Responsibility Compliance by Mr. Ronny Riyadhi from PT SGS Indonesia. The activity then closed by the internal meeting for APRI members.
There are many challenges for blue swimming crab fisheries in the future. APRI realize that the support from the all of members and all of stakeholders are very important. By this quarterly meeting, we expected that all of APRI elements can always coordinate well, always develop the role to support the sustainable blue swimming crab fisheries. Together, we build the blue swimming crab fisheries which is always to be better.
