APRI Attending the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing between MMAF and MSC, Jakarta, August 27, 2019

Various programs have been carried out for it, from government, association such as APRI, university, industry, NGO, and others. It is for one objective, the sustainability. Marine and fisheries resources will be decreased because of bad capture activities. Indonesian government through the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries has been done the various steps. In the August 27, 2019, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Indonesia done the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Marine Stewardhsip Council (MSC). The Marine Stewardship Council is an international non-profit organisation. They recognise and reward efforts to protect oceans and safeguard seafood supplies for the future (www.msc.org).
APRI which is focusing on the sustainability of blue swimming crab fisheries, also invited for the MoU signing. APRI Director Executive Dr. Hawis Madduppa and APRI Brand Ambassador Aik Wulandari represented APRI to attend in the activity. The activity was held in Jakarta. The MoU Signing is regarding support for enhancing capture fisheries and sustainable markets in Indonesia. Blue swimming crab through the Fisheries Improvement Program (FIP) Indonesian Blue Swimming Crab Association/Asosiasi Pengelolaan Rajungan Indonesia (APRI) became one of the commodities that received Fish For Good assistance from MSC, one of which was Pre-Assessment.
