Mr. John Bringier (CEA) Visits Blue Swimming Crab Supply Chain in Gresik, May 3-4, 2019

Blue swimming crab industry is involving several supply chain starting from fishermens, collectors/cooking stations, mini plants, and fish processor units. Those supply chain, play important role in the blue swimming crab industry with typical characteristics. Success from the blue swimming crab industry, include the fulfillments of compliance or in exporting, very dependent on how the condition of the supply chain, how they coordinate well. Blue swimming crab supply chain itself has a long chain with limited time, and it is make this industry is very typical.

On May 3-4, 2019, Mr. John Bringier from CEA accompanied by Dr. Hawis Madduppa visited done the field visit to Gresik, East Java, to visiting the blue swimming crab supply chain in the area. Mr. John Bringier and Mr. Hawis Madduppa visit one of the fish processor unit members of APRI namely CV Kudatama Mas to see how the blue swimming crab processing in the plant and how the control documents were done. They see every process in the plant, from the arrival of material, until the packaging. Not only to the plant/fish processor unit, in the day two they went to the Ujung Pangkah, Gresik, to see directly the condition of the other blue swimming crab supply chain, include the fishermens, collectors/cooking stations, and mini plants. They want to see how the supply chain runs, ranging from fishermen, collectors/cooking stations, to the mini plant, and to see how the documentation system at the critical point of the blue swimming crab fisheries included collectors and mini plants.
