Towards the Sustainable Blue Swimming Crab Fisheries in West Java, Bandung, December 14, 2018

The sustainable blue swimming crab fisheries management is very important to be done for preserve the blue swimming crab stock and improve the economic value for fishermen and blue swimming crab businessman. Ministry of Marine Affairs, APRI, Sustainable Fisheries Partnership, Environmental Defense Fund, and Starling Resources have done various programs related to develop the sustainability of blue swimming crab fisheries management in Indonesia.

The meeting that was held on December 14, 2018 at the Agency of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of West Java is the first formal meeting which has the goal to see the collaboration potential towards sustainability blue swimming crab fisheries management in West Java. Through this meeting, the sustainability blue swimming crab fisheries management will be conducted with governance and value chain approach. The government will play a major role in governance-based approach while the industrial sector will encourage sustainable fisheries through the obedience of blue swimming crab fisheries businessman along the blue swimming crab fisheries value chain.
