The working visit of the Director General of Capture Fisheries to Lampung Province

The Director General of Capture Fisheries Ir. R. Sjarief Widjaja, Ph.D and Member of the House of Representatives Commission IV of Republic Indonesia has made a working visit to Lampung province on 13-14 August 2017. The working visit greeted by Regent of East Lampung and Head of Lampung Marine and Fishery Services. This activity was separated into 2 days. On the first day, the director made a visit to East Lampung and have a meeting with Regent of Lampung Timur. Here also the handover of assistance and dialogue with stakeholders of East Lampung. On the second day, the director go to Bandar Lampung and PPI Lempasing. In Bandar Lampung, the Director was greeted by Governor of Lampung.

In his visit, The director conveyed the insurance related to the fisherman, he said that as many as 3000 people in eastern Lampung given JASINDO insurance free and borne by the government. The requirements must be a fishermen fishing card. If there is an accident then it should report a maximum of 1 month after the incident. This report should be known by the competent authorities. Other than that, Director of  Fish Resources Management Ir. Reza Shah Pahlevi also added with the insurance it is expected that all fishermen, especially BSC fishermen will pay more attention to the sustainability of BSC. Supported by using fishing gear in accordance with government regulations. The BSC is the country’s third largest foreign exchange earner after tuna and shrimp. So that the expected life of fishermen and suppliers will increase with this kind of support
