Initiation of Collaborative Establishment BSC Management Committee in Central Java

In the framework of sustainability management of Blue Swimming Crab in Central Java Province, Marine and Fisheries Agency of Central Java Province (DKP Jawa Tengah) held a meeting to discusses the development and Follow-up Management Action Plans for BSC Sustainability in Central Java Province. This event was held on 6 February 2017 in Semarang, Central Java.

This event was attended by APRI (Dr. Hawis Madduppa, Miftahul Khair ), Balai Besar Penangkapan Ikan – Semarang (Prof. Zarrohman ), Balai Besar Budidaya Air Payau Jepara (Mr. Edi), Biro Infrastruktur dan sumber Daya Alam Sekda Prov Jawa Tengah, FPIK – University of Diponegoro / NF Crab Council –CSE ( Dr. Abdul Ghofar ), PT. Muria Bahari ( Agung Pramono ), PT. Sumber Mina Bahari (Ahmad Muqarrabin ), PT. SMB ( Umar Heru Laksono), PT. Pan Putera Samudra Rembang ( Sigit), PT. Phillips ( Nanang ), Kasi Konservasi – West Madura and South Madura, Marine and Fisheries Agency of Central Java Province ( Fendiawan, Sakinah R, Dewi ) , Sustainable Fisheries Partnership ( Tita, Dessy, Rahmat Dani), Badan karantina dan pengendalian Mutu Tanjung Mas semarang, Department of Marine and Fisheries Demak, Fishing harbor beach DKP Moro Demak, Central Java Province

Fisheries management is a very important aspect to be empowered. Fisheries management should ensure the quality, diversity guarantees for the next generation in accordance with national ideals. The high demand for crab in the market resulted in massive exploitation in nature so necessary to ensure the optimal management of those resources.

The purpose of the meeting is:

1. To discuss the latest developments regarding to the Work Plan Blue Swimming Crab Sustainable Management in Central Java Province and the process of forming the Governor’s Decree to support the implementation.

2. To review and finish the Management Action Plans for BSC Sustainability according with developments including the issuance Decree of the Minister of KP regarding the Fishery Management Plan of Blue Swimming Crab in Regional Fisheries Management of the Republic of Indonesia (Ministerial Decree KP No. 70/KEPMEN-KP/2016) by representation of all stakeholders in the activities and Blue Swimming Crab fishery.
