Hands on Training of Trainer on Control Document Implementation

In order to follow up the Indonesian government regulations governing the minimum landing size of blue swimming crab, banning landing berried females, and banning mini-trawl gear then APRI, SFP and Crab Council held follow-up meeting in Surabaya on 28-30 November 2016. There were about 34 APRI members attended this meeting. APRI Secretary, Mr. Bambang Arif Nugraha and APRI Excecutive director, Dr. Hawis Madduppa  also attended this meeting. An effort from APRI and NFI Crab Council, with technical support from Sustainable Fisheries Partnership, The Control Document has been develop since the beginning 2015.

img-20161202-wa0006The responses from all the participants in regard to the Control Document are very positive.   There all also a lot of constructive inputs and suggestions during the training to improve the implementation of the Control Document. It is believed that Control Document will help the industries to comply with the regulations and at the same time ensure the quality of the crabmeat they produce and sell.
